I need help dying my hair purple?

i want to die my hair purple but am wondering how much bleaching it will cost? If it is posable can I die it purple with out bleaching. My dad said bleaching was EXPENSIVE. Can you buy a bleach kit at walmart or bulmoose or hot topic or purple die kit. How well do they work. I am a guy so I want a dark purple. here are pictures of my hair in different lights. I think it is brown. Can I get away with just dyeing it and no bleach and still have it look god and noticeable. Cuz a friend of mine did it and he said it was hard to see.

You'll need to bleach your hair a little bit before coloring it in order to get a true purple color rather than a purplish-brown color.

Well if you want dark purple you could just do a dye job over your natural color.

I had dark copper blonde, I dyed mine purple and it went a really nice dark purple.

bleach it yourself. BUT be careful not to kill your hair completely. when you bleach it dont blow dry it to make it bleach faster..that will only kill your hair more. Let it take its time. Its MUCH cheaper to bleach and dye your hair yourself or with the help of a friend. and after your done dying it you should try and use some kind of deep conditioning treatment...which you can find at like a wal-mart. and try and use that everyday to not kill your hair.

You can buy a bleaching kit at cvs or the grocery store or walmart or anything for about 10 bucks. Just be careful. Like that person said, don't kill your hair.

Not sure exactly where you can buy purple dye...at cvs I have seen dyes for funky colors, but I don't know about purple.

your hair doesn't look too dark, so i think bleaching will be fine to your hair. (if your hair is too dark, bleaching it runs the risk of it falling out.) yes, they sell bleach kits at walmart, but i don't think hot topic has any. they only sell temporary dyes. after you bleach it, wait another 3-5 weeks before dyeing it purple. with too many chemicals in your hair, it could fall out. if after bleaching it once, it turns orange, wait 3-5 weeks before trying to bleach it again. (it'll fall out!)

if you try to dye purple over your natural hair color, it'll look like poo. not only is it hard to see, but when you see it, it's not a very pretty color. (i know from experience. i have about the same color hair as you do, but i only dyed the ends of my hair, so i just cut it off.)

remember, once you dye your hair, you can't have it be the same exact color ever again!

I've seen purple hair dye kits at walmart, so I think those would work. My friend has the same color hair as you, and he dyed it purple about a year ago, and it turned out dark purple. (I loved it)
