Best way to get hair bleached?

I've finally been able to grow my hair out over the passed year, and I'm looking forward to bleaching it. I have brownish black hair (due to sun exposure), and I'm Asian so I have very "asian like" hair (managable, ect.). So, I'm a fan of the ex-member Bou of a band called Antic Cafe. His hair's a light, almost ash blond, that looks white in the right lighting. I've never bleached my hair before, but I plan on trying to get it the color I want over the passing weekend. I'd like to know...do I just go to a hair salon with a reference picture, or can I manage it at home myself? How long will the color stay, and how do I maintain it?

Well with anyone that wants to get bleached out I always recommend going to a professional. It's very easy to over process your hair even with the most attentive care while dying. You can also get spotty, or even burn your scalp (believe me, it hurts!).

If you are worried about te cost go to a local beauty school. They usually do great jobs at the 3rd of the price.

its permanent its hard to lift to that color...good luck genetics play a role in how fast your hair lifts...aka what color your skin is ..your eyes are...its difficult to maintain once you reach that color

Do not bleach your hair!! It dose an incredible amount of damage. I know I've done it. just lighten you hair little by little until you get to the shade of blond you want.

if you go to a salon, they will have a pallete of sample hair that you can choose from=D

i think it would be harder to do the hair on your own at home because it is bleaching and bleaching is a lot more difficult than dying hair. you need special heat and all this other junk...if you want your hair that light, it will be hard to bleach it that shade and not have weird chunks of black and brown mixed in.

it is NOT coloring. it is BLEACHING.

the color will stay until you grow out your hair.

it will NOT wash out EVER -- the color in your hair will be GONE. once you have your whole head done, you could probably buy some touch up bleach sticks and use hydrogen peroxide to keep the roots lighter.

you will need to not use a hair dryer or straighten/curl your hair(if you do, don't do it very often -- like once a week at the most).

try a weekly hot oil treatment

and deep conditioning at least once per week.

i have brown hair and i bleached it platinum blonde and it destroyed my hair because i straightened as well etc.

you really need to make sure you protect your hair well.

as you can tell, his hair is a bit dry, so you really need to take care of your hair(just so you know since i don't want anyone else to go through the years of torture regrowing one's hair after killing it%26gt;%26lt; it canNOT be revived once it is dead dry so really take care of it!!!%26gt;%26lt;)

Take yourself off to the best salon you can afford, my dear - you will thank yourself for it. One - they have much better products than you could ever buy at a pharmacy. Also, lightening is only one part of it, you will also need a second step to get the lightened hair to the actual shade you will want. Two - they will know how to take care of your hair so that you don't end up with hair that feels and looks like steel wool. Three - they can check out your colour processing all over your head, you can only see what's really happening at the front and sides. You need to have a lightener that protects your hair and you will need lots of conditioning afterward with a premium product. Better to be safe than sorry! Good luck!

That hair is gorgeous. I'm sure it will look good on you. So, what I recommend is to go to the salon to get the "perfect" look. But you can do it at home, its 3 times more cheaper. If you do it at home, you wont get the the color you desire after one application. You usually will need to get 3-4 applications. Because if you just use one box of hair dye, you will look like a banana! Bleaching your hair too much, damages it. Especially when you do it yourself. So if I were you, I would go to the salon. I know its expensive, but your totally gonna not regret it. And you wont have to wait and apply bleach your hair 4 times at home. It will save you alot of time. Once you bleach your hair, it will always stay like that. Cause its permanently erasing your previous hair color.
